Preserve current core, source, REST, desktop, recovery, documentation and validation work, including AGENTS.md and the development summary. This is a work-in-progress checkpoint: the new compact palette has outstanding compilation errors and native acceptance; earlier passing gates retain their documented scope.

Source 7 desktop authoring checkpoint
Desktop integration compiles. Current focused checks passed: qualified links 5,
operation authoring 3, semantic composition/omission 3, source7 recovery 8, legacy
recovery 13, Traceability browsing 2, and focused-canvas draft guard 1. Evidence:
.local/source7-desktop-final-focused.log and
.local/source7-desktop-traceability-rerun.log (the latter replaces the first
Traceability fixture's duplicate-mapping admission failure).
The first full run passed 560/561 and exposed a canvas scroll-state regression.
A fixed navigation container corrected it; the existing unchanged regression
passes in .local/source7-desktop-scroll-state-rerun.log. The full rerun passed
561/561, zero failed/ignored, in 263.39s:
.local/source7-desktop-full-tests2.log. Source is frozen and the Cargo lease has
returned to root. No source7 native acceptance is claimed here.
Observable workflow
- Process/chain canvas offers Focus canvas and Restore explorer and properties. Hidden panels do not bypass invalid draft or source guards. Saved diagram names sort by name then identity. Open source/Back remain above the canvas.
- Qualified links retain separate caller-qualified source and target addresses. Enter reference browses the complete direct inventory of that exact reference scope; Up and Root return without changing either selected endpoint. Search examines that whole inventory before 24-row pagination. Canvas preview folding remains separate and bounded. The >512 regression covers both direct and nested tail identities, last-page/search access, and raw draft recovery.
- Precedence and exchange/common-work incidence remain separate typed purposes. The existing core resolver validates every address and link. Repeated uses of a definition are distinct. The canvas renders incidence without a precedence arrow and exposes full qualified identity and explicit definition navigation.
- SA BoundaryInterface Call/Asynchronous drafts select an exact interface-item allocation, including parameterless operations. Explicit unresolved selection is retained; Reply derives its identity from the correlated Call. Value fields use the core's selected signature. Invalid raw values survive toggle/recovery.
- Reverse transitions and semantic review expose explicit operation omission and its required rationale. No allocation is inferred and the source is retained.
- Traceability has a fixed All / Layer traces / Development artifacts filter and search above the cards. It searches the complete inventory, including artifact URI/revision and owner identity, with stable name/UUID sorting. Filtering does not change selection or raw property drafts. The test uses 68 distinct mappings and exercises the existing invalid-property selection guard.
The operation test creates Reset and ReadStatus Call/Reply pairs through the GUI adapter without adding per-operation channels. Each result matches the core command, source reparse, and exact Undo/Redo bundles. Qualified-link tests cover both layers, repeated-reference identity, rejected raw endpoints, nested folding, and one-command exact source/history behavior.
Review findings and scope
semantic_review/source7_tests.rs passed the direct ContextSource path-only versus
Incident leaf conflict checks in both directions, virtual absent operation field
to exact selected allocation, and rejected omission rationale recovery/repair
against the core batch. The resolver-backed stale transient selection check is
used at display, seed, Back, and camera sites; its deletion regression retains
authored qualified drafts for explicit repair.
Independent review identified selected asynchronous operation value pickers exposing response-only parameters. A shared effective value-phase adapter now applies request direction to explicit asynchronous operation intent after exact signature admission, preserving ordinary asynchronous channel behavior. The new root/nested parameter test passed and retains a rejected output expression over recovery and toggling operation intent. Core admission remains authoritative.
Canvas preview expansion is bounded separately from authoring. Folded/omitted contributions retain full endpoint labels and explicit definition navigation; the complete-scope picker has no 512-prefix authoring limit. No unbounded rendering or simulator was added. Strict checks/build and source7 native authoring are the next gates; root owns those stages and their reports.
