Isolated canvas union checkpoint — 2026-09-11
Codex-ytr83r; root owns review, publication and native acceptance. Local source a57c334b302eb13352b4bb65df1c75d94d002348 on codex/canvas-union-ytr83r-20260911 identifies this source checkpoint and is not a release. Main checkpoint 32334c66317692befb6517a917dc7ae90641c11a, production 865483b4c66361a01fe0d9e731859220bafb4136 and its existing BF9 package remain preserved.
The union selectively integrates 42 source files from peer a31b40d0f8551ed87c8cd66250b9afb4809b3a79 and its chooser/form/session prerequisites. It retains root B4 lifetimes and marker selection, contextual source/minimum-card corrections and child-work responsibility/history behavior. Header and Create-label clips now apply the same camera pan/scale as their text; pointer inversion remains in canvas-local coordinates. Independent frozen App/prerequisite and renderer reviews found no material integration issue. The source-review archive preserves exact hashes, primary Iced evidence and the distinction between source review and runtime proof. Its historical “tests pending” text predates the results below.
Windows gates and new artifact
| Gate | Result | Completed UTC |
|---|---|---|
| Focused lifecycle | 27 passed, exit 0 | 19:55:46.4531913 |
| Full desktop all-targets | 752 passed; zero failed/ignored/filtered; exit 0 | 20:06:06.1170595 |
| Strict desktop all-target Clippy | -D warnings, offline/locked, exit 0 |
20:13:49.0390005 |
| Studio build | offline/locked, unoptimized dev profile, exit 0 | 20:20:48.7677661 |
The focused tests overlap the full suite and are not an additional total. Root ran the test gates; the delegated remaining-gates worker ran Clippy then build sequentially. All 529 inputs / 9,712,849 bytes matched worktree HEAD and remained unchanged through the gates; final verification was 20:20:58.775988 UTC. Input manifest SHA256: 47FEC9CADC0E7FAE99D789376C111C02EEAAB7FAC3740DE48174A06F61FE16B3.
The closed-gate archive carries the terminal logs/statuses, exact gate commands, input checks and artifact provenance separately from the source-only archive. Its original/copy manifests and second readback retain archival verification without claiming another gate execution.
New preserved Studio: 69DBB90FA299B3B3D90140C7934891F79166025893AF9B35B2B8D754A37A0D40, 113,028,608 bytes. Adjacent libunwind: AA282FA47BB2C4E210CEA5E470CDBDCA58568F0BE0BC73E404D86AB9CD95EF6A, 190,464 bytes. Source-before/copy/source-after hashes and lengths matched; both copies were marked read-only. The matching a57/69DB GUI has not been launched for native acceptance. Peer 729 and earlier root 707 results keep their original source scope.
Separate old-GUI native continuation
The existing packaged GUI BF9C2E618D4A4AC55E6A7EBB3738736659FC35A6465522C7B5AB975238938808 belongs to old source 865483b. Its original OA child-work archive covers first child, sibling and grandchild with exact Save/Undo/Redo comparisons. The closed continuation archive adds confirmed OA reopen/Save and SA first/sibling/grandchild, each Undo/Save and Redo/Save, then SA reopen/Save. The independent review found no material archive/evidence issue: all 111 original/copied payloads, closed receipts, original identity carriers and nine complete snapshot-directory comparisons matched.
That continuation supersedes the former current-state claim that OA remained stopped in an Open dialog and SA was unverified. It does not erase the failed/pending attempts: the first OA reopened-1948 pair and misleading screenshot filename remain explicitly data-only. Confirmed later screenshots show Source project opened and All source files saved. These receipts establish bounded 865/BF9 behavior; they do not establish a57/69DB native acceptance or explain backend causes of capture failures.
The old865 typography observations show bounded wide-W/CJK headers in the recorded cases, with exact unchanged source after passive Save. Cluster checks expose scalar shortening that drops an accent or splits a joined emoji; full Unicode presentation is not accepted. Remaining native work includes contextual-source workflows, packaged Home/Guide/normal-close behavior and the new canvas's pan/zoom/clipping, hits, focus and history. The full user goal also retains broader graphical manipulation, textual engineering, analysis/units, libraries, OA↔SA parity and independent discipline review requirements; this checkpoint is not completion.
Live scope/ownership remains in issue2, issue4 and issue5. Linux setup/build/check activity remains paused by explicit user instruction. This documentation update performs no source integration, compiler/UI action, staging, push or release publication.
