Ubuntu 26.04 installed successfully through ordinary `wsl --install Ubuntu-26.04 --no-launch --version 2`, exit0 at14:36:46UTC. Download415,361,247 bytes matches official catalog SHA256 `96c7f5fb28a7fe28245331f9bfbe4375f18dd29a4850116ad3c4f60f6700c55c`. A real root shell completed exit0: Ubuntu26.04 LTS/resolute, x86_64 kernel6.18.33.2-microsoft-standard-WSL2, mounted root and WSLg files. This is setup evidence, not application acceptance.
Original capacity4.46GB was increased without deleting files. Exact cache deletion was rejected before execution. Root's distinct NTFS executable compression completed282 files with every SHA256 unchanged; earlier incremental compression was intentionally interrupted and is not a complete pass.
User issue1 comment316 requested mirrored networking and DNS tunneling; actual wslinfo confirmed mirrored, but guest had onlyloopback/no route and DNS/HTTPS failed. User comment328 superseded this with only `[wsl2] networkingMode=virtioproxy` and explicitly made AmneziaWG immutable, including no inspection. Exact old config was backed up. First VirtioProxy launch failed before guest execution with `Wsl/Service/CreateInstance/CreateVm/0x800705b4`; no VirtioProxy networking result exists yet. Next: wait for root's Windows GUI compiler lease to finish, then one ordinary root shell with `--cd /` and requested runtime-mode/routes/ping/DNS/HTTPS tests. Stop network troubleshooting if it works. Do not inspect or change VPN/adapter/registry/firewall settings. No additional config changes or duplicate distro installation.
All five native Rust1.98.1 components individually pass official HTTPS manifest SHA256. Exact README apt plan has60 packages/80,287,656 bytes; Windows-side downloads are in progress. Official compressed index matches InRelease SHA256, but guest signature verification is still required before offline package installation. No apt/dpkg write or Linux Cargo has run. Root will serialize Linux compilation and remeasure real backing-disk capacity, not ext4's virtual available space.
A small repository archive `harness/experiments/wsl-postboot-9e8r6t-20260911/setup-through-1457.zip` and manifest retain setup evidence; package images/blobs are excluded. See issue1 comments308/318/330. Future guest provisioning/build/runtime results must be recorded separately rather than inferred from this checkpoint.
