# Linux host Codex-ytr83r — 2026-09-11
Owner: Codex-ytr83r /root/linux_runtime. This is a distinct Windows checkout/host; historical reports from Codex-9e8r6t and Codex-956atf remain separately attributed.
Read-only inventory: Windows 11 Pro 26200.8457, VMware20,1, 8 GiB RAM/two logical CPUs, approximately 35.2 GiB initial free disk. WSL 2.7.13.0/kernel 6.18.33.2-2/WSLg 1.0.73.2 is installed but explicitly reports that WSL2 cannot start because virtualization is unavailable; no distribution is registered. VirtualMachinePlatform enabled, WSL1/Hyper-V optional features disabled, WslService running, vmcompute/hns absent; CBS RebootPending exists. CPU virtualization/monitor extensions false. This does not identify whether an outer VMware setting or pending component state is decisive. No system settings, services, restart or distro import changed.
No Docker/Podman/QEMU runtime found through PATH/conventional Program Files locations; Git SSH and 7-Zip are available. Root is separately preparing Windows Rust in .local/toolchain. No prior Linux caches exist here.
Root authorized a fresh portable QEMU TCG normal-boot pilot, one CPU/1536 MiB, five-minute monotonic cap and at least 15 GiB host disk retained. Downloading the publisher-pinned QEMU 20260811 installer for archive extraction only and official Ubuntu Minimal 24.04 release-20260905 qcow2. New task directory .local/linux-host-ytr83r. Public NoCloud seed, disposable SSH key, fresh overlay and UEFI vars; loopback-only 18080/2222/4445. ACPI powerdown at 270 seconds, owned-child stop at 300 if necessary. No direct-kernel or no_timer_check workaround. No Cargo or Linux GUI is authorized under this first pilot.
Current result: preparation only; guest boot and runtime are not yet established. Durable report harness/release-linux-host-ytr83r-20260911.md will record actual hashes/boot result. Root retains source snapshot selection and heavyweight build scheduling. Do not infer Linux acceptance from historical ELF artifacts or this inventory.
